A losing proposition?

Well, the Gauntlet has been thrown down!
In a previous post (4/9) I made mention of losing weight and getting back in shape.
Problem is, I failed to deliver. Now that's changed. This past week GM Dennis Engard encouraged Dave & I to join him as assistant coaches in a fantasy football league he joined. As part of this joint venture, we were challenged to lose weight too. Ok, sounds good to me. Shouldn't be too hard, or so I thought.

Tonight we all sat down together and discussed each of our goal weight starting this week. Tonight I weighed in at 198 pounds. I was ecstatic that I was under 200lbs for the first time in about a year. Recently I started doing some weight lifting to tone up and walking 1-2 miles 4 times a week in the mornings. This was in addition to Martial Arts twice a week.

The challenge was the weight GM Engard challenged me to drop to. 170lbs. I haven't seen 170lbs since around 1985! I was initially prepared to drop to 185lbs, but the thought of dropping down to 170-175lbs would be a good lean weight for me. So I accepted the challenge.

Across the board, we each agreed to lose roughly 15% of our body weight by the end of December, which would be around 19 weeks. The nice thing about the challenge though is we'll be holding each other accountable and encouraging each other too. If the only I get out of this is losing a few pounds and helping a brother to achieve his goal, the sweeter the reward. Ultimately though, what Dave & GM Dennis Engard fail to realize is I'm gonna get my weight down to 170lbs, be fit, and win the challenge. I'm thinking Texas Roadhouse sounds good for winning the challenge!

Bring it on!!

Jeff sometimes lives in his own little world! To think he is going to win is great but reality is that I will win! I love both brothers in Christ but the real winner will be me! I know Jeff. :o)
