Winter Solstice

Winter has settled in.

Today it's about 27 degrees out with wind gusts up to 26mph with snow blowing furiously about in the air. With weather like today, it's a golden opportunity to just stay inside, light the fireplace, read a good book or magazine, and just take it easy, which is pretty much how the day went, aside from doing some odds and ends around the house.

Yesterdays weather was an assortment. Started out gloomy, overcast, and cold. A short while later it was snowing flakes the size of quarters and 2-4 inches of snow covered the ground before turning to ice and rain. By midday, it was just raining. Did however manage to drop a deer about 20 ft away with my shotgun while hunting yesterday morning. By late noon the deer was checked in, dropped off at the processor, and my wife & I were enjoying a nice lunch at Red Lobster. By the same evening, my family and I got together at Mom's for a lasagna dinner. A nice weekend altogether, despite the crazy Ohio weather. It's like the saying goes; "If you don't like the weather, stick around for a little bit. It'll change."
