Ohio country roads

I am blessed to know I can ride about anywhere in Ohio and experience good roads, great scenery, and enjoy the solitude of the road whenever the mood strikes me. On the particular day I decided to ride. I wandered on both familiar & unfamiliar roads without a care of the destination or when I'd arrive. This ride was more to get out and enjoy the fall weather. Here's the link of my ride.

I headed south to catch St. Rt 16 east toward 93 out of Zanesville. Once on 16, I changed my mind just as I was passing the edge of Newark and decided to head north on 79. 79 is a long stretch of road that meanders thru small blink towns like Hickman and Fallsburg, and on past long stretches of woods and pastures. It is accented some nice sweeping curves and the occasional twisty. I ended up going all the way north to 36 and east into Warsaw. Warsaw is a small town in the middle of nowhere. From Warsaw I headed east toward Coshocton to drift into West Lafayette to jump onto 93. Once on 93 I decided to head south and catch 208 in Adamsville. I'd heard 208 was a nice short route that was a favorite of some bikers. Once on 208 I immediately was faced with several twisties, some Amish folk in their buggy lazily traveling toward their destination, and proceeded thru several long sweeping curves. Road conditions were excellent and little to no gravel in the turns to contend with. 208 also has a long straight stretch one could open up the throttle. 208 ends at the beginning of 666 & Dresden, Ohio home of Longaberger Baskets.

I casually rode thru Dresden to McD's, where I enjoyed a light lunch before heading north to Trimway and then west back home to Newark. All in all a 4 hour ride thru scenic country and changing leaves.

Have to agree with you about the roads in Ohio - one can always find a beautiful ride in 'most any direction. I live north of Cincy, am hoping to run backroads to C-bus tomorrow, Nov 4th (70F and sunny!!!what a forecast!!).
