The gauntlet has been thrown down!

Not too long ago in my enthusiasm to run a 5k race with my son, I was catching up on some reading and surfing websites geared toward runners & jogging. That's when I came across the Warrior Dash. This is a 2.91 mile run/obstacle course for the macho sadistic warriors we men tend to be. Upon further review, I determined that a Warrior Dash race was taking place in our state in June of the coming summer. I was fascinated and intrigued at the same time and decided to see if I could stir up the warrior in my younger brother that runs 5 miles regularly during the week as part of his conditioning for motocross racing.
With this, I sent a simple email to him asking "Are you warrior enough" and supplied the link to the Warrior Dash website. This took place back in November.

Fast forward to a week before Christmas when I received an email from my brother that said we were registered, and provided the confirmation number, wave, and date/time of our race. I am totally stoked and will begin training again this week in preparation for this challenge. I've taken time off from training since the November 5th race and because of the holidays, but now that Christmas is past and New Years Eve looms, no better time to start preparing than now.

Let the games begin. In the words of King Leonidas: "Spartans! Prepare for glory"

Wow that looks like fun! I went to the link and see there is one within 30 miles of me in Illinois. I will tell my wife it's your fault.
