My first ride of the season for 2013 is now under my belt. After working weekends trying to business deadlines, I finally found the time to break free and ride. My good friends George & his wife Jacqui and I met in Heath, Ohio to ride south via SR79 to Lake View Drive, to SR40,east to Jacksontown. From there we jumped onto SR13 to SR664 south to Logan, Ohio and passed on through to Cedar Falls in the Hocking Hills. Road conditions were good with some uneven asphalt on SR664, but very little gravel along the way. The weather was sunny, clear and in the mid 60s. After arriving in Cedar Falls and spending some time walking around at Cedar Falls section of the Hocking Hills State Park, we departed back toward Logan and enjoyed a decent dinner at the Millstone BBQ off of SR33.
From there we finished off the day running north on SR33 to Lancaster and jumped over onto SR37 north to Granville, Ohio to SR16 east back home to Newark. All in all, a decent 110 mile ride in good company. The one downfall of the trip is my Vulcans front fork seals need repaired and the rear tire replaced. My Vulcan needs a little TLC in short order, but will be more than ready for the next fast approaching trip.
