Saving Christmas

It's been almost 12 months since my last post. 2014 has been a busy year and much has come to pass since my last post.

To start, my youngest son is growing into a fine young man trying to make his mark early in his adult life. He turned 18 yrs old, graduated from High School, got his motorcycle endorsement, and is now my intern in training to one day assume the the reins of my business, Nerk.com Business Services.

My oldest daughter finally found a man that she is dating and they have much in common. My grandson turned 2yrs old and is the apple of my eye. So much energy in that little dynamo. My wife became a member of the CMA too.

Me, due to leadership changes in the Rolling Prophets, I volunteered to step up as not only the Road Captain, but now the Vice President, a role which I was able to fulfill easily on top of all my other activities. Most recently I was asked too if I'd be interested as the state of Ohio webmaster for the CMA, of which I glady accepted that role, in addition to my role as the Rolling Prophets chapter webmaster too, in addition to the monthly newsletter editor.

The one thing I was most excited about was the purchase of my 2005 Kawasaki Nomad 1600 in February. It has been a good addition to our family and my wife & I enjoyed many evening rides together riding into the sunset, participating in poker runs, fundraisers and more. As a result of acquiring & riding the Nomad together, my wife has become more active in our life group Wheels of Grace & the Rolling Prophets/CMA.

This year of course hasn't been without its difficulties. In May I was diagnosed as Type 2 diabetic, of which has resulted in some lifestyle changes, especially in change of eating habits, exercise, weight loss, and more. As a result of this diagnosis I've since lost 37lbs and I'm now down to 192lbs and actively running 20km a week, in addition to improving my running time to 11:29 mins/miles, which is my all-time best time.

My golf game has improved for the 1st time in the 5yrs I've been playing. I'm now below 100 strokes on 18 holes regularly, which is quite the improvement since I finally settled on the clubs and other equipment I use.

All in all, this has been a good year. Lots of great moments spent with family & friends. My love for my wife has strengthened and deepened with all the troubles we've experienced together this year. My children are almost all grown and striking out on their own. I'm very blessed both my parents and my wife's parents are still around. My business is still as strong as ever and reached a 6 yr milestone as a surviving business that is still plugging along.

Yep, it's been a good ride. Stay tuned
