2009 Goals

First let me clarify. These are not New Years resolutions!
These are my goals & objectives for the coming year.
  1. Lose 28lbs - Currently at 218lbs.
  2. Become a 4th Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do
  3. Open & teach my own Martial Arts class or respectfully take over in my Sensei's place
  4. Work full-time by April for Buckeye Wheels magazine & double the size of the magazine.
  5. To see my daughter graduate from High School.
  6. To see my second daughter learn to drive & get her license.
  7. Watch, enjoy, and spend time with my son who is becoming a fine young man
  8. Plan & take a week long road trip on my motorcycle
To date I started working out 3 months ago at Northtowne Athletic Club and am currently working out daily at the YMCA with my TKD instructor Dennis Engard. Until now, I've been fairly consistent on the workouts, but need to work on proper nutritioin. However I opted to wait until after the holidays are out of the. So now I begin.

I may soon become a 4th degree black belt and be able to teach my own class. This too would allow me to promote students in belt rank. This would be a life goal I've worked hard to come to. However, I know, I too have a lifetime of learning in the Martial Arts and much to experience, know, absorb, and pass on that which I've been blessed to learn.

Buckeye Wheels magazine is pet project and business I feel blessed to be a vital part of. I helped to get this magazine off of the ground 8 years ago thru Richard Axline who is the owner of the business. Times have changed and the business is evolving to a level that will test my skills & knowledge in Prepress and Internet Web Development. Should be a very exciting time to be part of this business as we add to our product line and provide services never offered to our loyal customers before now.

My daughter is now in her senior year of high school. Growing up very fast. Very proud papa.
My second daughter is growing up to be a beautiful young lady whom I pray becomes a woman of much favor of God.
My youngest son is growing up so fast. He is now of an age that I can do so many things with including fishing, hunting, motorcycle riding, baseball games, and much more. A fine young man that tests me at all levels and shows evidence of becoming a brilliant man with a prosperous future.

My last goal is to take a week long road trip. I would like to travel to Utah and ride to Bryce Canyon and Zion National Park. This would be a ride of a lifetime enjoying the natural beauty of the land in the West. I decided upon this when I read a fellow bloggers site of his journey thru this part of the country. The uncertainty in obtaining this final goal of course is dependent upon what happens with my career, the business, finances, and family obligations. Still, I remain optimistic. Wait and see.

It's gonna be fine in 2009!

Jeff - It really is a small world... Iteresting that you mentioned your TKD instructor. I know Dennis but its been several years since I've seen him. He's a man of great passion and dedication.

Worthy goals every one of them.

Blessings in the new year.
