Pain...it comes in many forms and intensities. Last night my son & I ran with our 5k training group. Even though I hydrated well before hand and stretched out, I knew I was going to pay for not exercising the week before. I had taken a solid 9 days off with no exercising, no stretching, and straying from my normal diet and indulging my taste buds. After 45 minutes of enduring the training regimen,I was sweaty, winded, and spent. Totally and completely exhausted. Near passing out, I slowly stretched out afterwards and crawled back to my truck to head home.
Fast forward to the next morning and I'm still feeling the effects of sore legs and slighly tight lungs. Add in an aching lower back & sore shoulders from playing 9 holes of golf earlier the same day I ran, and you have a 1, 2 knockout combo that has exceeded my body's limitations. Everything in me wants to blow this off, but I'm sticking it out for my health and to show my son even an old fart like me can do the impossible.
Hence the title and the following post: 25 Quotes to Inspire You to do the Impossible

Keep up the workouts. I have lifted weights for lunch over the past 10 years. However, I added cardio seriously this past year. With very little moderation of food, I dropped 14 lbs and completed an off road triathlon. Nothing extreme, just a bit more fit. It's great that you have your son along with you.
Glad you liked the article. Congrats on dominating the training regimin & good luck with your run! =)
