Today we start week 6 of our 12 week 5k training regimen. Up until now, we've done the routine stretching, 5 minute walks, followed by combinations of jog/walk sessions ranging from 3-5 minutes each . This week we will do 3 minute & 5 minute jogs separated by 90 second & 2 minutes walks, repeated twice, followed by the normal 5 minute cool-down. Next week we will do 3 qty 5 minute jogs with 3 minutes walks between 3x. Then starting (week 8), we start running 20 minutes continuously, starting & finishing with 5 minute walks to warmup/cooldown.I'm looking forward to finally airing out the lungs. I just hope my son can keep up with me, which he should, especially now that he has learned to slow down and pace himself. He actually stated he's beginning to enjoy running. We'll see come week 8 ;)
