Wednesday I went to see my family doctor regarding my blood tests a week prior.
When I checked in my blood pressure was a text book 120/80 with pulse of 60b/m.
However, upon consulting my doctor regarding my blood tests, I got results that concerned me.
They were as follows:
Total cholesterol: 216
HDL Cholesterol (good cholesterol) 22
Target: More than 45 for men
LDL Cholesterol: 81
Target: Less than 130
Triglycerides: 682
Target: Less than 150
Blood Sugar: 104
I am very concerned about my HDL level is too low, my triglycerides are off the charts, and my blood sugar is borderline high. The doctor however has scheduled another series of blood tests in 3 months to continue to monitor my health. In the interim she has ordered I continue taking blood pressure medicine, exercise regularly, and eliminate sugars from my diet and change my eating habits. Exercise isn't an issue and I am actively trying to clean up my eating habits. Time will tell.
